Tohra dead

NEW DELHI, MARCH 31. Senior Akali Dal leader and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Gurucharan Singh Tohra died in a private hospital here late tonight. He was 79.

The death came at around 40 minutes past midnight, after he suffered a heart attack a little earlier, at the Escorts Heart Institute, hospital sources said.

Mr. Tohra, who was in a serious condition after suffering a massive heart attack last Thursday, was flown here this evening from Amritsar for advanced treatment. — PTI
