This Day That Age
The Government of India, it is learnt, have decided on a system of visa for travellers between Ceylon and India which would be introduced as soon as necessary arrangements could be completed by the Indian High Commission in Colombo. This step is by no means something strange, for, ever since Ceylon introduced visa regulations in 1949 for Commonwealth citizens, Indians along with British and others were required to produce visas issued by the Ceylon Government authorities before entering Ceylon. India had, however, not chosen to take a reciprocal step about the same time.
