Biggest ever overseas victory

MULTAN, APRIL 1. The innings and 52-run victory in the first cricket Test against Pakistan was not only India's first in this country but also it's biggest ever win away from home.

India registered its first away victory in 1967-68 in New Zealand and today's win is its 20th abroad.

Remarkably, seven of those 20 wins have come since Sourav Ganguly took over from Sachin Tendulkar in the 1999-2000 home series against South Africa.

List of India's away wins (chronological order):

Beat New Zealand by five wickets, 1st Test, 1967/68 at Dunedin.

Bt New Zealand by eight wickets, 3rd Test, 1967/68 at Wellington.

Bt New Zealand by 272 runs, 4th Test, 1967/68 at Auckland.

Bt West Indies by seven wickets, 2nd Test, 1970/71 at Port of Spain.

Bt England by four wickets, 3rd Test, 1971 at The Oval.

Bt New Zealand by eight wickets, 1st Test, 1975/76 at Auckland.

Bt West Indies by six wickets, 3rd Test, 1975/76 at Port of Spain.

Bt Australia by 222 runs, 3rd Test, 1977/78 at Melbourne.

Bt Australia by an innings & two runs, 4th Test, 1977/78 at Sydney.

Bt Australia by 59 runs, 3rd Test, 1980/81 at Melbourne.

Bt England by five wickets, 1st Test, 1986 at Lord's.

Bt England by 279 runs, 2nd Test, 1986 at Leeds.

Bt Sri Lanka by 235 runs, 2nd Test, 1993 at Colombo (SSC).

Bt Bangladesh by nine wickets, the only Test at 2000/01, Dhaka.

Bt Zimbabwe by eight wickets, 1st Test, 2001 at Bulawayo.

Bt Sri Lanka by seven wickets, 2nd Test, 2001 at Kandy.

Bt West Indies by 37 runs, 2nd Test, 2001/02 at Port of Spain.

Bt England by an innings & 46 runs, 3rd Test, 2002 at Leeds

Bt Australia by four wickets, 2nd Test, 2003/04 at Adelaide
