Jyoti's brother, Sanjay, today said he was informed by her lawyer that her brother-in-law, Rahul, who had been arrested by the Bulandshahr police this January, had been granted bail. His mother, Uma Chandra, is still behind the bars, while the other two accused - Pramod Chandra and his youngest son, Atul, -- are at large. The police said they were trying to trace them.
Meanwhile, Shreya, who was operated upon at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) this Tuesday, is stated to be doing fine. Sanjay said he was yet to get details of the court order directing Rahul's release on bail. "Jyoti's mother-in-law is also trying to get out on bail. We fear that they might vanish from the scene after being released, as Jyoti's father-in-law and another brother-in-law are already absconding. After we have the details of the court order, Jyoti's lawyer would decide on the further course of action," he added.
