DAVANGERE, APRIL 2. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Davangere district unit has alleged that the police were prejudiced against it. Instead of booking cases against the Congress workers who allegedly threw stones and footwear on the BJP workers at Harihar two days ago during a procession, the police had booked cases against the BJP workers, it said. L. Basavaraj, president of the district unit of the BJP, told presspersons here on Friday that the Congress workers threw stones on the procession of the BJP workers, in which 20 persons were injured. They included two councillors of the Harihar Municipality. He wanted to know how the police had allowed the BJP and the Congress to take out a procession on the same road at the same time. He urged the police to drop the cases against the BJP workers.
