Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair award announced

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
APRIL 2.
The Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair award instituted in memory of the noted Kathakali artiste, Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair, would be presented to the veteran Kathakali artistes, Kalamandalam Kerala Varma and Kalamandalam Kesava Poduval
Announcing this at a press conference here today, the chairman of the jury, Chengarappalli Anujan, said the awards instituted for the veteran Kathakali artistes in the field was being presented to these artistes in recognition of their services in the Kathakali field.
The award consisting of a cash prize of Rs. 5,001, statuette and a citation would be presented to the award winners at a function to be held at the Theerthapada Mandapam on April 7 in connection with the 90th birthday celebrations of Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair.
The secretary of the Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair Smaraka Gurukulam, K. R. Kurup, also attended the press conference.
