TV sets recovered

NEW DELHI, APRIL 3. Over 140 stolen television sets have been recovered from a godown at Alipur here by a special team of the North Delhi police. One person has been arrested.

During a routine check at Inderlok, the police tried to intercept a Maruti car being driven by one Vakil Ahmed. The driver stopped the car, came out and tried to flee. Suspecting that something was wrong, the policemen gave a chase during which Head Constable, Jagbir Singh, got one of his fingers fractured.

Vakil, a resident of Abu Fazal Enclave in South Delhi, was finally overpowered. During interrogation, he disclosed that the television sets had been stolen from a canter tempo. At his instance, the police mounted a raid and recovered rest of the television sets.
