BJP nominee's "golden" promise to voters

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, APRIL 3. The Deputy Mayor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Hyderabad Lok Sabha, Subhash Chanderji, on Saturday promised to metamorphose the "old city into a gold city", if elected in the coming elections.

Mr. Chanderji, who outlined his plans for the constituency at a press conference, said if elected he would concentrate in the areas of education, employment and strive to better the standard of living here.

"The MIM leaders never bothered to improve the amenities and their apathy has pushed development out of the old city," he alleged.

The BJP leader claimed to be receiving positive response from voters in all the seven Assembly segments. "Voters in the rural segments of Chevella, Vikarabad and Tandur in particular are determined to vote out the MIM," he said.

The electorate also realised that voting for the Congress had only facilitated victory of the MIM, he said.

The traditional vote bank of the MIM was split with the Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) and other groups set to give a tough contest, he added.
