KSRTC staff to take out Secretariat march
By Our Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM,
APRIL 4.
The Kerala State Transport Employees Union (AITUC) has decided to take out a Secretariat march on April 16 in protest against the KSRTC decision to cut down its services, besides denying promotional opportunities to its employees.
In a statement here today, the union general secretary, M. Radhakrishnan Nair, said that the KSRTC management had decided to cut down its schedule and running distance by one lakh km this year.
It had cut down on schedule and running distance by more than 1.5 lakh km since 2001.
He said that the decision posed a major threat to the existence of the public utility and would open up nationalised routes for private bus owners.
