MAHABUBNAGAR, APRIL 4. The TDP president and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has appealed to people to defeat the parties extending support to naxalites. He was addressing an election meeting at Kosgi, the mandal headquarters in Kodangal Assembly constituency, on Sunday. Mr. Naidu alleged that the Congress was saying that naxalites were committing no wrong while its ally TRS said it would implement naxalites agenda. In his 30-minute speech, the Chief Minister made a scathing attack on the Congress, the TRS and naxalites. Mr. Naidu alleged that persons who purchased party ticket by spending lakhs of rupees were in the fray. In an oblique reference to the Congress leaders, he asked what would be the fate of the State if those who sold the party ticket and the persons who purchased them, came to power. Referring to the Congress party's promise to provide free power to the farming community, Mr. Naidu appealed to the people not to trust the false promises made by the Congress. "How can a party which could not provide free power in States where it is in power, would ensure free electricity in the State," he questioned. Mr. Naidu said that the coming elections would determine the development and prosperity of the nation and the NDA government at the Centre and the TDP in the State alone could ensure this, he said and appealed to the people not to allow a woman of foreign origin to become the Prime Minister of the country. He said that if so, the struggle and sacrifices made by our ancestors to throw out foreigners would go waste.
