VIJAYAWADA, APRIL 4. A woman and her son were crushed to death when a lorry hit the two-wheeler they were travelling on at Katubadipalem village of G. Kondur mandal on the city outskirts on Sunday. The woman's husband, Ravikanth, and elder son who suffered grievous injuries have been shifted to a private hospital in Vijayawada. According to the police, Ravikanth (38), his wife M. Ramana, and their two children were proceeding on their motorbike from Mylavaram to Vijayawada, when the lorry carrying empty LPG cylinders rammed into the motorbike. While, Ramana and her younger son Hari (5), were killed on the spot Ravikanth and his elder son escaped with serious injuries. The police are on the lookout for the lorry driver who abandoned the vehicle and fled.
