This Day That Age
Pope Pius XII appeared in Vatican City on April 4 at a brilliantly lighted window of his private apartment to bless 50,000 people in the great square of Saint Peters below his palace. It was the second time the Pope had appeared at his window since he fell gravely ill in January. The first was a month ago when he blessed thousands of old soldiers of the famous regiment, gathered in Rome for a reunion.
