Additional sugar released

NEW DELHI, APRIL 5. The Centre today released 1.09 lakh tonnes of sugar for indigenous free sale by revalidating release orders relating to unlifted free sale quota pending since October 2003. This is in addition to 16.16 lakh tonnes of sugar (free sale plus levy quota sugar) already released in March for April. This free sale quota released by way of revalidation is meant only for internal consumption.
