COIMBATORE: The PSG College of Technology and Elgi Software and Technologies Ltd. (eSTEL), both based in Coimbatore, have signed an agreement to set up a "Centre for advanced applied technology" at the college premises. The centre, aimed at promoting industry-academia technology collaboration, will work in VLSI, DSP, Embedded Sytems and Optics to deliver large-scale product solutions for the convergence and industrial automation platforms. According to a release, Elgi Software will run "special interest programmes for the students on current and future cutting edge technologies". The company will also initiate predetermined number of project streams in consultation with the institution every year.
