'Rename Pondy railway station'

PONDICHERRY, APRIL 5. The Pudhuvai Tamizh Sangam president, Mannar Mannan, has requested the Southern Railway authorities to rename the local railway station as `Puduchery' instead of `Pondicherry'.

He said the board at the entrance of the station carried the name Puduchery and this should be written on the board inside the station. The Tamizh Sangam thanked the authorities for gauge conversion of the Pondicherry-Villupuram section.
