Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, APRIL 5. The founder president of the Hindu Muslim Christhuva Federation, B A Manhush, today demanded that the police pay special attention to protection of passengers travelling to and from Pondicherry as there were frequent instances of theft of their luggage. Addressing reporters here, Mr. Manhush said the Orleanpet police station, whichwaslocatedat the entrance to the municipal bus terminal, had been shifted to a far off place, making it inaccessible to passengers. Hence the police station should be shifted back to Marai Malai Adigal Salai close to the bus terminal. He also wanted a separate welfare board for transport workers. The authorities should enhance the strength of police personnel.
