Himachal Pradesh
By Our Staff Correspondent
SHIMLA, APRIL 5. A one-day workshop for district level spokespersons was organised here today by the Pradesh Congress Committee under the leadership of the PCC president, Vidya Stokes. The workshop `Effective media management' was arranged by the AICC spokesperson and MP, Prabha Thakur. Some specialists from the Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Himachal University here also gave professional inputs, according to the PCC office here. The party has set up four sub-media centres in Hamirpur, Dharamshala, Mandi and Shimla to function simultaneously in the run-up to the elections. The main objective of these centres is to ensure co-ordination and publicise party programmes and manifesto among the people, said Dr Thakur. The important state party functionaries were told about the issues to be raised in the public about the state and Centre. The one-year corruption free tenure of the state government and the failures of the NDA government at the Centre would be the main planks, she said. The AICC spokesperson said that there was a huge difference between the manifesto, vision documents and agenda of the BJP. "They are all separate and different and people should be made aware about the dichotomy in preaching and practice of the BJP", she said. When asked about the candidate for the Mandi Parliamentary seat, she said that a number of other candidates were yet to be decided.
