PM condoles death of IAF pilots

NEW DELHI, APRIL 5. The Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, today condoled the death of IAF pilots, Gagan Oberoi and Mayank Mayur, when two Jaguars collided and crashed near Sonmarg in north Kashmir on Friday.

Mr. Vajpayee wanted to go to the residence of Flight Lieutenant Mayur as he was on a visit to Lucknow, his Lok Sabha constituency. But he was informed that his family had gone to the Ambala Air Force base to collect the body, a PMO spokesman said. The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the two families.
