ANANTAPUR, APRIL 5. Andhra Pradesh will take on Air India in the final of the S. R. Sukumara Trophy all India women's cricket tournament being held at the NSR Stadium here tomorrow. In the last league matches today, Andhra recorded an emphatic, eight-wicket win over Mumbai while Air India trounced Combined Districts XI by 201 runs. It was Andhra medium-pacers Soujanya and left-armer Sravanthi who skittled out Mumbai for 76 in 21.5 overs. Soujanya returned with an impressive five for 23 while Shravanti claimed three for 13. In reply, Andhra was off to a bad start losing openers Sangeeta (7) and Aruna (10) early. But skipper Savita Nirala (32 not out) and Keertana (18 not out) steadied the innings and guided the host to a comfortable win. In the other match, Amrita Shinde's 127 not out (17 x 4) and her opening partnership of 148 with Vidya Gopal (72, 12 x 4) helped Air India pile up 272 for two in 35 overs. In reply, Combined Districts suffered another defeat when it was restricted to 71 for six. The scores: Mumbai 76 (Soujanya five for 23, Shravanti three for 13) lost to AP 77 for two in 19.3 overs (Savita Nirala 32 not out). Air India 272 for two in 35 overs (Amrita Shinde 127 not out, Vidya Gopal 72) bt Combined Districts 71 for six.
