MYSORE, APRIL 5. A 40-year-old driver working with BEML was found murdered at Vinayaknagar in Jayalakshmipuram police station limits on Tuesday morning.

The victim, Padmanabha, was reportedly found by people in a pool of blood besides the compound of an apartment under construction near St. Joseph's School.

The police said the body bore deep wounds in the neck and stomach.

The throat had been slit open, while stab wounds were found on the stomach and back.

According to the police, the victim, who was separated from his wife a year ago, was staying at Hootagalli.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, B.A. Poonacha, visited the spot. Sniffer dogs were pressed into service.

They led the police for a distance before losing scent near the open air theatre at Gangothri campus.
