MANGALORE, APRIL 5. The former Chief Minister, M. Veerappa Moily, and the former Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, filed their nomination papers as the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates, respectively, in the Mangalore Lok Sabha Constituency. Ahmed Jamaal of the Indian Union Muslim League and Rohit Kumar of Kannada Nadu also filed their nominations in the constituency. B. Nagaraja Shetty of the BJP filed his papers in the Bantwal Assembly Constituency, K. Vijayakumar Shetty of the Congress in Surathkal, Angara of the BJP from Sullia, K. Padmanabha Kottari of the BJP in Vittla, N. Yogish Bhat of the BJP in Mangalore, K. Amarnath Shetty of the Janata Dal (Secular) and K. Abhayachandra of the Congress in Moodbidri. The Chief Whip of the Government, Vasanth Bangera, of the Janata Dal (S) and the former MLA, Prabhakar Bangera (Belthangady), of the BJP have also filed their nominations. Others include T. Soorappa Hatyadka of the Bahujan Samaj Party in Sullia, and the Kannada Nadu candidates, N. Damodara Poojary in Vittla, Sooraiah in Surathkal, Shivaprasad in Bantwal, K. Mathai in Mangalore, Vijayakumar Shetty in Ullal, and Robert Rosario in Moodbidri. Valerian D'Souza and Jagadish Shetty, independents, filed their papers in Moodbidri.
