Gaddar flays Simhadri

VISAKHAPATNAM, APRIL 5. Popular ballad singer and revolutionary writer, Gaddar, demanded that the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, make public the findings of the high-level committee which was appointed to probe into the happenings in Andhra University after Y.C. Simhadri took over as Vice-Chancellor.

He visited the indefinite dharna camp being organised by the Joint Action Committee for Protection of AU here on Monday. Gaddar felt that without the Chief Minister's tacit support, Prof. Simhadri "will not dare to be vindictive towards the employees''.

He told the agitating employees to dethrone Mr. Chandrababu Naidu in the forthcoming elections and thereby reject the Vice-Chancellor. The balladeer deplored the "indifferent attitude" of the TD Parliamentary Party leader, Yerran Naidu, and the Bharatiya Janata Party president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, who were both AU alumni, towards the campus happenings. Gaddar caught the attention of the striking employees by denouncing the Vice-Chancellor through his ballads.

Meanwhile, the Hindi professor, S. Surappadu, who was dismissed by the AU authorities, served a notice to the university and the State Government that they own responsibility, if the situation went out of control.
