Manipur
By A Correspondent
IMPHAL, APRIL 6. The Revolutionary People's Front (RPF), a proscribed organisation, has rejected the Congress' appeal to the leaders of the outfit to review the "ban" on Congress candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Manipur. The RPF last night said that it would not budge from its stand on banning election-related activities of the Congress. The Education Minister and Congress candidate for the Inner Manipur constituency, Thokchom Meina, appealed to the RPF insurgents to review the "ban order." The Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi, and other senior Congress leaders are believed to have sent feelers to the insurgents.
