Congress names Kotla's son for Kurnool LS seat

HYDERABAD, APRIL 6. Kotla Suryaprakasa Reddy, whose supporters went on a rampage setting fire to the Kurnool District Congress Committee office on speculation that he is being denied the party ticket from Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency, finds his name in the second list of the Congress candidates for the second phase of elections announced in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Another notable inclusion in the list of Lok Sabha candidates is Purandareswari from Bapatla, the elder daughter of the TDP founder and former Chief Minister, N.T. Rama Rao.

In the list of candidates for the Assembly elections, prominent among those who could not make it were the former Minister, Mohammed Jani, and N. Ramamurthy Naidu, brother of the TDP chief and Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu. Mr. Jani who is the spokesman of the APCC, is unhappy and he is expected to reveal his decision on Wednesday. Mr. Ramamurthy Naidu was inducted into the party amid fanfare recently and he was hoping to get a ticket from one of the Assembly segments in Chittoor. His supporters protested on the streets of Tirupati. Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu who was planning to switch over to the Telugu Desam managed to get the ticket from Puttur.

The following is the second list of Congress candidates for the second phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections:
