KOLLAM, APRIL 6. The body of Anil (32), who had gone missing on the night of January 29 last, was today exhumed by the Thenmala police from the forest area off Kazhuthurutty. A woman, identified as `Udumbu' Subhaida, who allegedly runs a hooch den had got wind of the fact that Anil had informed the police on her activity, they said. They said that on the night of January 29, she had served him hooch at her place. Three men had tied him up and whacked him till he was unconscious. They had then taken him to the Kazhuthurutti River and drowned him to death. He was then buried, the police said. The police said that one of Subhaida's accomplice, Suresh, had been arrested.
