PATNA, APRIL 6 . Bihar Minister of State for Art and Culture Monajir Hasan today resigned from the Council of Ministers, accusing the State Government of being anti-minority. Mr Hasan also tendered his resignation from the primary membership of RJD and the State Assembly. The interests of minority communities were being overlooked under the Laloo-Rabri regime and the RJD distributed only three tickets to them when they should have been given at least 10 tickets, he told reporters here. Mr Hasan is the fourth Minister to resign from the Rabri Devi Ministry in order to contest the Lok Sabha elections. He is also the third RJD Minister to do so. The fourth Minister, Dadan Pehelwan, was an independent member of State Assembly. Earlier, Purnmasi Ram, Chhedi Paswan and Dadan Pehelwan had left the ministry to contest the election from Bagha, Hajipur and Buxar constituencies respectively. Openly expressing his intention of joining the JD (U) and contesting the Munger Lok Sabha seat in the State, Mr Hasan said, Bihar would be reconstructed under the leadership of George Fernandes, Sharad Yadav and Nitish Kumar. Mr Hasan said that he would discharge any duty assigned to him by his new party. Bihar Land Reforms Minister Ramai Ram had also expressed his intention to contest the Lok Sabha election from Hajipur constituency before the RJD-LJP tie up. Meanwhile, former RJD MLA and Chairman of Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation (BSIDC), Sahid Ali Khan, today resigned from the primary membership of the party in protest against dictatorial style of functioning of its president Laloo Prasad Yadav. Mr. Khan, a two-time MLA from Sitamarhi, told PTI over phone that he had faxed his resignation letter to Mr. Yadav over giving cold-shoulder to the Muslims in ticket distribution.
