194 nominations filed

HYDERABAD,
APRIL 6.
With one day to go for the closure of nominations, constituencies in the second phase of polling received a record number of 194 nominations, covering 94 Assembly seats and 28 for 16 Lok Sabha seats, according to information received here from districts up to 8 p.m.
With this, the nominations received for the Assembly and Lok Sabha went up to 531 and 80 respectively. Independents dominated the list.
Among the day's prominent candidates were K.E. Krishna Murthty, a former Minister, who filed papers for the Kurnool Lok Sabha seat representing Telugu Desam and his brother, K.E. Prabhakar, a Minister, who filed papers for the Dhone Assembly seat. G. Srinivasulu of the Congress filed for the Kuppam Assembly constituency. The Minister for Municipal Administration, B.V. Mohan Reddy, filed his nominations for the Yemmiganur Assembly seat.
