NEW DELHI, APRIL 6. A software professional who was forced to leave her job following harassment by a male colleague is once again allegedly being targeted by the same person who is sending abusive letters to her neighbours in West Delhi. The Crime Branch of the Delhi police, which had earlier arrested her colleague, now claim to have found evidence of involvement of the same person in the incident. According to the police, Suneeta (name changed), who used to work with a software company in Noida, had complained to the Crime Branch saying that her colleague, Sandeep Jain, a resident of Pitampura in North-West Delhi, was harassing her in the office and stalking her. Following the complaint, the Crime Branch had arrested Sandeep under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 509 (outraging the modesty of a woman) and 354 (assaulting woman to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code on January 24. Later, he was released on bail. In the meantime, Suneeta left the job in a bid to avoid him. A few days ago, the family members of Suneeta were informed by their neighbours that somebody had posted letters on their addresses which had vulgar content maligning Suneeta. The family then approached the Crime Branch and a case of outraging the modesty of woman was registered on April 2. The police came to know that over 100 such letters had been posted in the locality of the victim. The letters were also posted to the local police station and the Crime Branch. The police picked up several envelopes and sent them for forensic examination. It then came to light that Sandeep had posted these letters in bulk from Main Post Office in Noida. The letters were typed and unsigned and so were the address slips. Meanwhile, forensic examination revealed that finger-prints on the envelopes were that of Sandeep.
