BANGALORE, APRIL 6. Burglars broke into a supermarket in the Basavanagudi police station limits on Sunday night and took away goods and Rs. 1.55 lakh in cash. According to a complaint lodged by Haresh Doshi, managing director of 7 to 11 supermarket on M.N. Krishna Rao Road, the burglars entered the shop by breaking the grills of windows in the basement. They took away Rs. 1.55 lakh in cash, which was in the cash box, six wristwatches, shirts, and detergents. The Basavanagudi police have registered a case.
Euros stolen: A sum of 200 euros (about Rs. 20,000) and two purses were stolen from a Dutch national, Alieslam Soebham, allegedly by Deepak Singh of Uttar Pradesh, who was travelling with Mr. Soebham. According to the police, Mr. Soebham met Singh in Mumbai sometime ago, and they came to Bangalore on April 2. They checked into a hotel at Seshadripuram. Singh allegedly stole the money on Wednesday morning.
Chain snatched: A gold chain worth Rs. 20,000 was snatched from a woman in HAL police station limits on Tuesday evening. The police said that a woman, Bramaramba, was riding pillion on her employer, Rajesh's moped, on HAL Ring Road. When Rajesh got a call on his mobile phone and stopped the vehicle, a man snatched Ms. Bramaramba's chain. The HAL police have registered a case.
Autorickshaw stolen: An autorickshaw owned by D.R. Santosh Kumar was stolen by two persons from the Kamakshipalya police station limits on April 2. Kumar had parked the autorickshaw on the roadside near Sunkadakatte around 10.30 p.m. The Kamakshipalya police have registered a case.
House burgled: Burglars broke into the house of G. Jasavoroyan in J.C. Nagar police station limits on Tuesday and took away gold ornaments, a mobile phone, and Rs. 500 in cash.
