New traffic regulations on some roads soon

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, APRIL 6. To ease congestion and reduce accidents, the Bangalore city police will shortly impose new traffic regulations on Seshadri Road, Kempegowda Road, Palace Road, Old Post-Office Road, Nrupathunga Road, and adjacent cross roads.

Under the regulations, movement of vehicles from Mysore Bank Circle towards Police Corner Circle will be prohibited. Vehicles will be allowed to proceed as before in the opposite direction. The one-way system on Old Post-Office Road is being withdrawn. Barring buses of the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation and the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation and other heavy vehicles, all vehicles will be allowed on the road in both directions.

However, the one-way system on Nrupatunga Road from K.R. Circle to Police Corner Circle will be continued. All vehicles including BMTC and KSRTC buses will be allowed to take a right turn and proceed towards Mysore Bank Circle on Kempegowda Road.

The one-way system on Palace Road from Maharani College Circle till Mysore Bank Circle will be reversed. Vehicles will be allowed to move from Mysore Bank Circle towards Maharani College Circle, and proceed towards K.R. Circle through Seshadri Road. The one-way system on Seshadri Road from Anand Rao Circle to Maharani College Circle will be extended up to K.R. Circle. Vehicles will not be allowed to go from K.R. Circle towards Maharani College Circle.

Because of these changes, the police will shift the BMTC bus stops near Cauvery Bhavan to Seshadri Road (opposite S.J. <129>Polytechnic) and to Nrupatunga Road <129>(opposite the City Magistrate Court Complex).
