TUMKUR, APRIL 7. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, will embark on his "Vijaya Dundhubhi Yatra" from here on Thursday. The general secretary of the Tumkur District Congress Committee, H.S. Hemanth Kumar, in a press release here on Wednesday, said Mr. Krishna would arrive at Kallambella at 11.30 a.m. and address a public meeting at the bus stand ground there. The yatra would then cover villages on Bangalore-Pune National Highway. Mr. Krishna would address another public meeting at Sira before leaving for Hiriyur in Chitradurga district. Ambarish and Jaggesh, actors, Umashri, actress, would be among many the Congress leaders accompanying the Chief Minister, Mr. Hemanth Kumar added. He said T.B. Jayachandra, Minister for Agriculture, was seeking election from Kallambella Assembly constituency for the fourth time. Bhuvanahalli Srinivasaiah, veteran Congress leader, was contesting from the Sira Assembly constituency. N.Y. Hanumanthappa, a former judge, was the Congress candidate for the Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency. Sira, Kallambella and Pavagada segments in Tumkur district are part of the Chitradurga Lok Sabha constituency. The Congress won from the three Assembly segments in 1999.
