Ashok Leyland sells more
CHENNAI: Ashok Leyland has reported sales of 48,648 vehicles in 2003-04, up by 33.5 per cent from 36,445 last year. During the year, at 44,490 vehicles, total domestic MDV (medium duty vehicles) sales grew by 40.3 per cent (33,581 last fiscal). Out of this, the goods segment constituted 33,443 vehicles, up by 48.8 per cent over 23,838 vehicles sold last fiscal, and passenger segment 11,047 vehicles against 9,743. At 3,782 vehicles, exports were up 48.3 per cent from 2,550 vehicles. Sales during March 2004 were up by 17 per cent at 6,194 vehicles (5,293 vehicles in March 2003). Exports were up 77.2 per cent at 606 vehicles (from 343 vehicles in March 2003).Total production for the year was 49,148 compared to 33,646 last fiscal.
