Alden Prepress to expand

. The Chennai-based Alden Prepress Services Pvt Ltd (APPS), the wholly owned subsidiary of the Alden Group of the U.K., is set to expand operation. Addressing a press conference here today, Nigel Wyman, Executive Director, APPS, said most of the publishers were looking for suppliers, who would use new technology to develop production workflows that guaranteed the quality of data. Mr. Wyman said Alden Group, the publisher of science, technical and medical books and journals, offered services in copy-editing, pagination and graphics.
APPS was set up in November 2000 with an investment of Rs. 1.50 crores to handle all the prepress works. Its staff strength had gone up to 400 from 20. The company planned to recruit 240 people before the year-end.
The Alden Group would be investing Rs. 50 lakhs to expand Chennai APPS.
