Temperature

TIRUCHI, APRIL 7 . The city today registered a maximum temperature of 38.2 degree Celsius and a minimum of 24.6 degree Celsius.

Meet

The Muslim Welfare Association will hold its regional conference to promote `humanness and harmony' in Tiruchi on April 11.

The convener of the conference, A. M. Mustafa Kamal, told presspersons here today that Ulemas, muthavallis and representatives of various Jamaths from across the State were expected to participate. Discussions would be held on promoting educational and job opportunities for Muslims and improving their economic conditions.

Scholars and representatives of religions working for communal harmony and national integration have also been invited. Resolutions adopted at the meeting would be forwarded to the Centre and the State Government, Mr. Mustafa Kamal added.

Mettur level

The level in the Mettur dam stood at 24.37 feet today. The inflow was 166 cusecs, and there was no discharge.
