SP leader joins Congress

NEW DELHI, APRIL 7. Denied a ticket by the Samajwadi Party, its two-time member of Parliament from Mohanlalganj reserved constituency adjoining Lucknow, Reena Choudhary, joined the Congress here today.

Ms. Choudhary, who met the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, in Amethi on Tuesday, is tipped to be the party's candidate from Mohanlalganj. After meeting Ms. Gandhi and expressing her desire to join the Congress, the 35-year-old politician also led the "welcome party'' for the Congress president's cavalcade when it passed Mohanlalganj on the way to Lucknow on Tuesday.
