RTG to expand India operations

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, APTIL 8. The San Jose-headquartered ReadyTestGo (RTG), a pure-play software testing provider, is set to ramp up its operations in India.

As part of this exercise, RTG is planning to double its headcount, step up investment and scout for an additional facility.

RTG has now people on its rolls. It proposes to infuse around $1 million in the current year.

The over three-year-old company has already seen a total investment of around $2million. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cybernet Software Systems. RTG posted revenue of $1.2 million for 2003-04. It expects to end the current year with revenue of $2.5 million.

Shiv Kumar, Chairman of the company, presaged third party software testing to be the next outsourcing wave.

Mr. Kumar said RTG got 60 per cent of its revenue from long-term contracts and the rest from short-term ones.

Though engagement with end-customers fetched more money, RTG, he said, would look at alliance with software development vendors so as to ensure a steady stream of revenue over a longer period.
