`Namma Udupi' to be a separate channel

UDUPI, APRIL 8. "Namma Udupi" will be a separate channel from Friday.

The promoter of the channel, Eric Saldanha of Unique Communications, told presspersons here on Thursday that the channel would give importance to entertainment, tourism, game shows, and cultural and news-based programmes.

Interviews with important persons would be telecast live, he added.

The former MLA, U.R. Sabhapathy, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the Udupi Assembly Constituency, K. Raghupathi Bhat, and B. Sudhakar Shetty, who is contesting as an independent for the seat, would participate in the inaugural programme on Friday, he said.
