Third place up for grabs

LONDON: England, India and Pakistan are in the hunt for the third spot in the ICC Test table when they go into the final matches of their current series in West Indies and Pakistan.

A win or draw in its final Test against West Indies in Antigua will lift England to third unless Pakistan triumphs in the final match at Rawalpindi against India. If Pakistan wins, it will cling on to the third spot with 105. A draw will see the host remain on 102. India's rating was boosted from 95 to 100 by its strong showing in the recent drawn series against runaway leader Australia.

It now needs to win the final match in Pakistan to climb above its neighbour in the Test table.

The rankings: 1. Australia (127); 2. South Africa (112); 3. Pakistan (102); 4. New Zealand (101); 5. England (101); 6. India (100); 7. Sri Lanka (94); 8. West Indies (82); 9. Zimbabwe (55) and 10. Bangladesh 1.
