CHITTOOR, APRIL 9. The district Collector, A. Giridhar, has asked contestants and their supporters to follow the election code of conduct scrupulously during the campaign. Addressing a meeting of candidates here on Saturday, the Collector regretted that candidates had not applied for vehicle passes in spite of instructions that their vehicles would be seized if they plied without permission. Expenditure statements, including that of their followers, should be furnished to the election observers, he noted. The Superintendent of Police, M.V. Ramachandra Raju, said that four cases were booked against violators of the code of conduct. The Joint Collector, B. Janardhan Reddy, wanted furnishing of expenditure statements in three days.
