NEW DELHI, APRIL 9. Sanjeev Kumar and Yudveer scored two goals each as Ganga International School blanked S. S. Mota Singh Senior Secondary School, Janakpuri, 6-0 and made it to the semifinals of the D. P. Joshi memorial inter-school (under-19) hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium here on Friday. Union Academy, Delhi, DAV School, Rohini and Guru Harkishan Public School, Shahdara, were the other teams that made it to the semifinals. Ashok opened the scoring for Ganga International in the 10th minute before Yudhveer immediately made it 2-0. Sanjeev Kumar (18th minute) kept up the momentum before Yudhveer (22nd) and Sanjeev Kumar (25th and 34th) added a few more to the tally. Delhi inter-zonal champion Union Academy defeated Bal Bharati, Pitampura, 6-0 as Alok Sharma and Vikas Sharma scored two goals each. Devender Chauhan and Dinesh Kumar Verma were the other scorers. In a closely contested encounter, DAV, Rohini, edged past Modern School, Barakhama Road, 1-0 through Manish Sharma's 43rd minute goal. In the fourth quarterfinal, the Shahdara school hammered S. S. Mota Singh Senior Secondary School, Paschim Vihar, 15-0. Ravneet Singh struck five goals while Aakash Bansal slotted in four. Mudit Garg, Yogesh Hooda and Pramod Rawat scored two goals each.
