HYDERABAD, APRIL 9. The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president, D. Srinivas, on Friday expelled with immediate effect 19 persons from the primary membership of the party for six years on grounds of contesting against official candidates of the Congress and its allies -- the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the CPI and the CPI (M). The expelled were: P. Jagan Mohan Rao (Bobbili), Taddi Sanyasi Appala Naidu (Gajapatinagaram), Shobha Chinnama Raju (Srungavarapukota), Kamatam Ram Reddy (Pargi), D.K. Aruna (Gadwal), Puli Veeranna (Mahabubnagar), Jupalli Krishna Rao (Kollapur), Challa Venkata Reddy (Alampur), V. Bhoopal Reddy (Sangareddy), P. Shashidhar Reddy (Medak), Ponnam Prabhakar (Karimnagar), Bomma Venkateswar (Indurthi), Kommireddy Ramulu (Metpally), B. Somla Naik (Khammam Lok Sabha), T. Rajaiah (Ghanpur), N. Praveen Rao (Chennur), A. Sambaiah (Vardhannapet), Bharath Chandra Reddy (Mahabubabad) and Bochu Srinivas (Parkal). In a statement, Mr. Srinivas said the expulsion was not applicable to those candidates who had already withdrawn or retired in favour of the official candidates of the Congress and its allies.
