Nagercoil
By Our Staff Reporter
NAGERCOIL, APRIL 10. The Opposition party councillors of the Nagercoil municipality staged a dharna in front of the civic body's office here today, protesting against alleged deletion of names from the electoral rolls and apathetic attitude of officials towards the voters. Alleging that the names of over hundred eligible voters in the municipal area have been deleted, the members, led by Simon Raj (DMK) and T.R. Selvam (Congress), said some of the voters, who had turned up at the municipal office to have their names included recently, had to return, as no one was present at the office to provide them with the requisite forms. If this "apathetic" attitude continued, eligible voters would have to forfeit their right to vote," they added.
