TDP sarpanch kidnapped, freed

NIZAMABAD, APRIL 10. A Telugu Desam Party sarpanch of Tirmanpalli village in Dichpalli Assembly constituency was allegedly abducted by unidentified persons from his house late last night and later released in Gambhiraopet mandal of Karimnagar district.

According to reports, the sarpanch, Dhanraj, who has been actively campaigning for the Minister for School Education, Mandava Venkateswara Rao, was reportedly whisked by masked miscreants from his house in Tirmanpalli village.

The sarpanch was allegedly bundled into a four-wheeler and taken to Gambhiraopet.

The sarpanch was allegedly warned not to campaign for Mr. Venkateswara Rao.

He was warned of dire consequences and released this morning.

The victim came back to his village in the afternoon and met the Minister at Dharmaram B village and narrated the sequence of events.

He alleged that TRS workers had abducted him for campaigning for the ruling party.

A case of kidnap was registered.
