HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. Senior Congress rebels and leaders of several other recognised political parties are planning to float, in the next couple of days, a `Telangana United Front' with a common agenda and manifesto. Rebel Congress leaders, including K. Keshava Rao, have been holding confabulations with leaders of theJanata Party (Telangana unit) and others on the formation of the proposed front. The other parties that will be part of the front are the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Trinamool Congress, the Lok Janashakthi and the Samata Party, according to the Janata Party (Telangana unit) president, L. Muralidhar Rao Deshpande, and the national general secretary, Janata Party, D. Shanker. Talking to reporters here on Saturday, they said the basic objective of the front was to support the demand for a separate Telangana State. The front leaders would canvass for the victory of the nominees of its constituents. The Janata Party (Telangana unit) has fielded its candidates in one Lok Sabha and 27 Assembly constituencies. Mr. Shanker condemned the attack on his party's Lok Sabha candidate, Narotham Reddy, at Hanamkonda on Friday, allegedly by TRS activists. He said Mr. Reddy was seriously injured and was hospitalised. He also criticised the TRS president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, for "unilaterally extending support'' to the Janata Party candidate in the Wardhannapet constituency.
