TRS leader joins BJP
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
APRIL 10.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader, L. Bhupathi Reddy, today resigned from the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Union Minister, Bandaru Dattatreya.
Later speaking to the presspersons, Mr. Reddy claimed he quit the TRS following differences with the party president, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, over alliance with the Congress. The alliance had come as a setback to the Telangana agitation which forced him to quit the party, said Mr. Reddy, who earlier quit the BJP to join the TRS. Like him, former MLA from Parkal, Jaipal, too returned to the BJP fold today.
Mr. Dattatreya who invited the two leaders back into the party, said several allegations were levelled against the TRS leadership by its own functionaries. There was no transparency in TRS which caused high levels of dissidence and the situation was no different in the Congress, he said.
