Software firm comes up with EVM simulators
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
APRIL 10.
A software company, Net India Limited, has taken up a "public awareness programme" on use of Electronic Voting Machines being used covering the entire State for the first time, with the help of EVM simulators manufactured by it.
As part of the programme, the company organised a day-long demonstration of a half dozen simulators on Saturday near NTR Bhavan.
The simulators resembling the "balloting units" of the EVMs attracted a large number of voters who tried to familiarise themselves with voting exercise by enacting a mock poll. The simulators symbolically contained 12 names of candidates and as many symbols against them.
Sukumar Dorani, an officer from the company, said they had taken up the mission with twin purpose teaching voters on how to cast their votes electronically on EVMs and at the same time doing their own business. They had plans to sell the simulators to contesting candidates.
