Dasari to launch mass contact programme

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. Rajya Sabha member, Dasari Narayana Rao, who is also chairman of the APCC Election Campaign Committee, is planning to launch a mass contact programme in support of the party in a couple of days.

According to party sources, Mr. Rao will take out a bus yatra along with a cultural troupe. He had earlier planned an elaborate campaign schedule for the party to cover the entire State. However, he postponed it following `differences' with the party leadership. It is learnt that senior AICC leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad and Pranab Mukherjee, placated him and smoothened his ruffled feelings.

Mr. Narayana Rao was complaining of `social injustice' in selection of candidates from several constituencies in the State. There were also reports that he would leave the Congress in protest. The APCC president, D. Srinivas, and his political affairs adviser, Yadav Reddy, played a key role in getting him to reverse his decision.
