Congress, TRS losing credibility: TDP

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, APRIL 10. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday stated that both Congress and its electoral ally, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) had lost credibility they had enjoyed with people and if the developments over the past week were any indication, there was no doubt as to who would win the elections.

At a press conference here, party spokespersons -- C. Ramachandraiah and A.V. Subramanyam (AVS) -- recalled the tussle between the Congress and the TRS over seat-sharing and allotment of ticket.

They particularly referred to the allegations that leaders of both parties had collected huge amount from aspirants.

When newsmen referred to similar criticism in the TDP, they said that the TDP was `above all this.'

The only noticeable factor that when seats were given to the BJP, TDP leaders in the respective constituencies had felt ignored. There was no reason for them to feel so, he said, adding that the party would take care of them.

On the issue of rebel candidates filing nominations against official nominees announced by the party high command, Mr. Ramachandraiah said the rebels and those whose actions could prove detrimental to the party's interests were warned.
