BANGALORE, APRIL 10. The Rotary Foundation of the Rotary International conferred the Paul Harris Fellow medallion and certificate on K. Jairaj, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, here on Saturday. Presenting the honour, the past District Governor of the Rotary International, V.V.K. Mani, said that Mr. Jairaj, as an official, had taken corrective action in polio-prone Bellary and Raichur districts by ensuring immunisation and initiated other steps for eradicating the deadly disease. He also motivated people to help Rotary and contribute to the cause. Responding to the honour, Mr. Jairaj said Rotary had been playing a vital role along with the Government in eradicating polio.
