ADILABAD, APRIL 11. The commissioning of 3,374 Electronic Voting Machines for the nine Assembly constituencies and the Lok Sabha constituencies of Adilabad and Peddapalli (encompassing the Chennur and Luxettipet Assembly segments only) began at the district collectorate. The exercise which began on April 10 will end on April 12. One Electronics Corporation of India Engineer has been deputed for each Assembly constituency to discharge the commissioning of the EVMs. A district coordinator from ECIL was in charge of the technical work. Each of the 1,687 polling stations in the district will have two EVMs. Just over 200 EVMs will be kept in reserve with the zonal officers. A reserve of EVMs for inaccessible polling stations will also be kept. These machines will be sent in advance. There are about four difficult and inaccessible polling stations per Assembly constituency. In addition, 10 EVMs would be reserved for every Assembly segment, 10 each at the Lok Sabha constituencies and 50 EVMs would be kept in reserve at district headquarters.
